Terrace of 3 houses. c1790 with minor C19 and C20 alterations.
Red brick in Flemish bond, Westmorland slate roof set behind
tall parapet with flat stone coping. 3 ridge stacks. The
properties are arranged with a valley gutter between each
building and a sloping roof to the rear.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6-bay front arranged 2:2:2 with 1st floor
brick band. Nos 1 and 2 each have a 6-panelled door to the
right, with panelled ingoes, margin light overlight and narrow
pilastered doorcase with small pediment and finely dentilled
cornice. To the left of each door is a margin light sash
window. No 3 has 2 C20 margin light sashes in a C20 brick
blocking-up of a former shop front. To 1st floor 6 margin
light sash windows and to 2nd floor 6 smaller similar windows.
All have flat wedge rubbed brick arches.
The return of No 3, to Witham Street, has a side entrance door
in pedimented surround similar to those on the front, and a
plain sash window with brick segmental head. To the rear are
single storey pantiled extensions.
INTERIOR: the buildings retain narrow stick baluster stairs
and some panelled doors.
