Chestnut House

GV II

House. Mid C18, with late C19 additions and C20 alterations.
Brick with slate roof and single gable and side wall stacks.
Moulded dentilled wooden eaves, brick coped gable. 2 storeys
plus attics, 3 x 4 bays. Street front has a central canted bay
window, mid C18, with cornice and glazing bar sashes. Above,
three C18 glazing bar sashes with flat arches.
South front has a full width single storey addition, late C19,
with wooden balustrade to flat roof. 2 glazing bar sashes
flanked by single doors, all with segmental heads. The left
door belongs to No.11 Steep Hill. Above and behind, 3 French
windows and to right, a casement, all C20. Above again, a
gabled dormer, and to right, an unusual 2-light casement, both
C19. INTERIOR not inspected.
