Country house, early C19, 2 storeys, of red brick with later major wings of gault brick, and hipped slate roofs. Original house probably double pile, on north south axis, with an east west range of 3 windows at its southern end, and further south,an 'L'-shaped range forming a yard to the west. West facade of 3 bays with central half glazed door and doorcase with fluted pilasters, Doric entablature and cornice, flanked by 2 single storey bays with sash windows with glazing bars, stone sills and lead flat roofs. At first floor and in east west wing, sash windows with glazing bars,stone sills and flat gauged brick arches. The service wings have sash and casement windows with glazing bars, flat brick arches and stone sills. Attached to the service wing are a lean-to green house, potting shed and kitchen garden walls. The gault brick wings, enclose the northern and eastern sides of the original house. The principal facade to the east of 5 bays with central porch, and 2 bays to the north, slightly set back. The north elevation is long, but of 1 window, and with C20 fire escape. The west elevation has 2 windows. All have a plinth with stone weathering, giant pilasters with moulded brick tops at the angles and moulded brick course below the eaves. A wide central pilaster panel contains the porch with fluted Doric columns, pilasters, entablature and cornice. Windows are storey height with sashes, glazing bars, stone sills and flat gauged brick arches. Timber eaves to the house have paired shaped brackets. Red brick axial and gault brick stacks. The interior is mainly Victorian.
