ST 55 NE STOWEY-SUTTON WICK ROAD, BISHOP SUTTON (east side) 5/99 Church of Holy Trinity II

Anglican parish church. Dated 1848 on Incorporated Church Building Society plaque on interior west wall. S.C. Fripp. Squared and coursed lias with ashlar dressings, copings and C20 slate roofs. Nave, chancel, west belfry, north aisle, south porch. Crude neo-Early English style. Nave and chancel have simple pointed headed lights with lozenge leaded panes; tripartite east window.Offset buttresses, bracketted cornice. West saddleback belfry with 2-light bell openings in plate tracery. 2-light windows to north aisle. South porch with trefoil headed entrance, shafts with stiff-leaf capitals and hoodmould with foliage stops. 2-leaf plank door. Interior. 5-bay arcade giving onto north aisle, open rafter roofs throughout. Fittings. 1848 font, pulpit; later C19 figures to reredos. C20 stained glass in east window and 1 chancel south window.
