No 21, C17 altered, 2 storeys and attic, 2 gabled casement dormers. Pantiles.
4 flush frame sash windows, at 1st floor, and blank recess. Brick, plastered.
Red brick splay bay, ground floor right and entrance with fanlight. Flank
fluted pilasters, and plain entablature. Former shop window, left with pilasters
to wood case and entrance with fanlight. Nos 22 and 23, early C17 with massive
central chimney stack. 2 storeys and attics. Formerly one building, upper
part now divided and front altered and later roof to left portion. Left
portion, No 22, 3-light segmental headed casement dormer in slate roof, wood
eaves cornice, plastered front, whitened. 3 cambered headed flush frame sash
windows, with glazing bars, at 1st floor. Restaurant window and entrance
in wood case with flank pilasters. Right portion, No 23, includes massive
chimney and segmental headed casement dormer with horizontal glazing bars,
one near-flush frame sash window at 1st floor centre and added casement each
side; ground floor square bay with glazing bars and door with glazed upper
half. Interior: wide fireplace exposed at 1st floor, 2-panel doors with
H hinges, ground floor cupboard with shaped shelves, hewn trusses and purlins,
NMR photograph.
Nos 20 to 24 ( consec) form a group.
