Small Country House c.1630 altered 1722 extended 1911. Coursed rubble stone, old tiled roof with stone chimneys and hipped roofed 2 light dormers, bracketted eaves, stone coped gable ends. 2 storeys and attic. South front has stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds, central gable with sundial dated 1722 in tympanum, 2 2 light windows to 1st and ground floor and central stone porch built 1911 from old stones and a Cl6 arch. Inner door has moulded surround. Flanking bays altered 1911 when RH gable and wing was added in matching style. 3 and 4 light casements. Other elevations cement rendered. W. and E. wings joined on N. side by a 1 storey range including a small Brewhouse with a C16 moulded oak doorframe with arched head. Inside a large fireplace with stone hood. Interior : mostly C19 and 1911. The Boudoir, in the W. wing has 3 walls of early C18 bolection moulded panelling and later C18 carved wood chimneypiece. Similar chimneypiece in the schoolroom in the N.W. corner. RCHM II p 163 MON 5
