BROOK STREET 1. 5377 Great Waldingfield Brook House TL 94 SW 9/200 II

2. Originally a mediaeval hall house of 2 bays with C16-C17 alterations and additions. There are cross wings at the east and west ends. The west wing has a jettied upper storey on exposed joists at the north end. At the south end there is a C18-C19 addition. 2 storeys. The windows are mainly C20 casements but there are a number of original windows with diamond mullions. One large window on the north side has 5 mullions. Roofs tiled, with a cruciform shafted chimney stack with oversailing caps, on a square base. The north end of both wings have gambrel roofs and there is 1 gabled dormer on the front. The interior has exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams and joists.
