2. The house is said to be on the site of the C13 house of the Bishop of Ely who was Lord of the Manor. The present building is C16, timber-framed and plastered with cross wings at the north and south ends. The cross wings are 2 storeyed with attics and the centre hall block is one storeyed with attics. The ground storey has exposed timber-framing. Modern doorway. Roof tiled (old tiles), with a central chimney stack with 2 diagonally set shafts and 2 gabled dormers to the centre block, one large and the other small.
