5/79 Old Rectory
II
Former rectory, now house. c.1837 by Edward Browning, with minor C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings and ashlar, Collyweston slate roof with 2 ridge ashlar stacks. 2 storey with garret, 3 bay front having advanced and gabled central bay having decorative pierced cusped Gothick bargeboard, moulded plinth, string course and eaves course. Central door with traceried panels, now glazed with Tudor traceried overlight, flanked by single fixed lights. Beyond are single 2 light windows. To first floor are 3 stepped glazing bar lights flanked by single 2 light windows. All windows have Tudor arched heads with sunk spandrels, moulded surrounds, chamfered mullions and moulded hoods. In the gable a circular window in a pelleted ashlar surround. Interior retains a Tudor arched stone screen on octagonal columns to dogleg stick baluster stair with wreathed handrail.
