14/18 The Red Lion Inn
GV II
Public house. C17 rebuilt C18, altered C19 & C20. Some timber-frame on 1st floor painted brick infill, rebuilding and extensions, plain tile roofs. Originally 2 storey, 3 bay with off-centre ring to rear, wide bay added to one end with C20 low addition attached to it, and C20 converted 1½ storey, 2 bay service range at other end. Front has in centre of 2 storey block C19 gabled porch with arched opening, each side single casement. In narrow 2 bays to RH 2-light casements, Above these 3 bays raised lst floor band and exposed framing. RH wide bay has 6-panel door and wide 20-pane camber head sash. On lst floor in centre and end bays, 2-light casements. End stacks and gable walls. To RH 1½ storey range has gabled porch, large bowed window, over loft door. and C20 set-back addition to end.
