2. Built 1867-8 by George Dawson to a design of J H Hirst of Bristol. Crescent composed of 3 bay units stepped down hill. 3 storeys, attics, dormers and cellars. Slated mansard roofs mostly with gables dormers; No 4 with large central dormer flanked by pilasters carrying entablature and pediment. Grit stone ashlar with red brick dressings and coarse florid detailing. Bracketed cornice with attic windows in parapet above. Arched sash windows; 2nd floor with 2 ligiits in recesses with cast iron balconies; 1st floor windows with enriched surrounds. Mostly modern bank and shop fronts to ground floor; No 4 (National Westminster Bank) with fluted ½ columns with Tower of Wind capitals carrying entablature and flanked by architraved doorways with console bracketed cornices; No 6 (National Westminster Bank) with enriched Flemish Renaissance frontage with Ionic pilasters carrying bracketed cornice and arched openings with carved figures forming parts of keys, end bays with coats of arms in frieze, wrougnt iron balcony at lst floor level.

Nos 1 to 12 (consec) form a group.
