4/59 Methodist Church
- II
House, now church. Probably late C17 to early C18 with early C19 and later alterations. Timber-frame with brick infill, brick, sandstone rubble plinth and front gable wall with tiled roof. Rectangular three-bay plan aligned north-west/south-east. One storey. North-east elevation has three windows, 2-light early C20 casements, one to each bay and two on the ground floor to left and centre beneath those above, two ledged doors, one to centre and one to right-hand side. South-west elevation has three semi- circular headed cast iron windows with small panes set in painted brickwork. Gable front to road has exposed timber-framing in gable top above another semi-circular headed cast iron window and central gabled early C20 porch. (RCHM Vol I, p 197).
