SPRING GARDENS 1. 5315 (North Side) Police Station SK 8189 1/148 II GV

2. Mid C19. White brick with bands in red brick and hipped Welsh slate roof. Red brick eaves cornice, with brackets. Cross Street elevation has 6 round-headed windows with red brick string at cills, red brick heads and band at impost height. 1 small window of 2 paired lights with column mullion to left. Moulded cornice between storeys. Ground floor of 8 arcaded bays containing 4 windows (1 formerly a door) 1 door and small window of 2 lights. The larger windows have round-arched heads and moulded band at cills, recessed apron panels. Carved stone capitals to bays on ground floor. Spring Gardens elevation has 3 windows to 1st floor with string at cills. 4 bays to ground floor include 2 windows. To right a rectangular porch with trefoil-headed entry and pierced parapet. Later wing of 2 storeys to right with rectangular bay of full height.

Nos 25 to 29 (odd); Police Station and Nos 33 to 37 (odd) form a group, Nos 25 to 29 (odd) and No 33 being of local interest.
