Details
MERCER ROW 1. 1348 (South Side) Nos 28 to 34 (even) TF 38 NW 1/206 II GV 2. Early-mid C19. 3 storeys. Moulded cornice and parapet with 3 panels, 2 long and narrow rising to central one which breaks forward. 3-1-3 windows, divided by Corinthian columns. The centre window breaks forward, flanked by paired columns. All windows are hung sashes with glazing bars in wood surrounds. String between 1st and 2nd floors. Plain pilasters to 1st floor windows. No 32 has modern shop front on ground floor. No 30 has modern Georgian bowed shop front. Tiled stall riser in different colours with shop name. Plain late C19 shop front to No 28, modern glass. This building would be of II* quality with more sympathetic shop fronts. Nos 28 to 34 (even) form a group with No 24. Nos 32 & 34 form a group with No 13 Market Place.
