Farmhouse. c.1600, C17, with C19 and C20 minor alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. Stone coped slate roofs having single gable brick stack with stone plinth and single brick ridge stack to rear. T-plan. 2 storey with garrets, irregular 3 bay front having chamfered stone plinth. Off-centre blocked doorway with moulded stone surround, 4 centred arched head and cornice. To left a 3 light C20 window and to right a rectangular 3 light bay window with sloping slate roof. At mezzanine level is a central 2 light stone mullioned window, lighting the stair. To first floor a similar 2 light window to eaves is flanked by single 3 light mullioned windows. In the right hand gable are pairs of 2 light mullioned windows to ground and first floors and 2 blocked lights to the garret. In the left hand gable is a single blocked 3 light window to ground floor, similar first floor window and a 2 light garret window. To the rear are C19 and C20 extensions in brick and stone. Interior. Right hand room has a moulded stone fire surround with flat head, C17 oak panelling, full height on one wall, to dado height on other walls, chamfered beam with shield shaped ogee plaque. The dog leg staircase has stout bobbin balusters with moulded handrail. The walls flanking the stair are timber framed with substantial posts and rail. In the right hand bedroom is a moulded stone fire surround, matching the room below, with deeply moulded cornice which supports a plaster panel of c.1600 character. A central fluted pilaster, supporting a figure, is flanked by single half round columns on decorative plinth. In the left hand panel is a scene of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In the right hand panel - Abraham and the sacrifice of Isaac are depicted, with a raised panel inscribed "Abraham his Faith". The figures are in relief and in contemporary costume, substantial traces of the original colour remain. To either side of the overmantle are sections of frieze with inhabited vinescroll. The chamfered ceiling girder and plastered ceiling conceal the top of the frieze and overmantle.
