Stokesay Castle, near Craven Arms, Shropshire

Reconstruction drawing of Stokesay Castle. Really a fortified manor house, it was built in the 1280s by Lawrence of Ludlow, a wealthy wool merchant. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
