Esplanade and Beach, Weymouth, Dorset
A view north along the sea front at Weymouth. The Esplanade and beach are busy with holiday makers. There are bathing machines to hire at the water's edge to allow the more adventurous to swim in the sea and change discreetly into their bathing clothes. Weymouth was a popular seaside resort from the reign of King George III (1760-1820).
