Boughton Pumping Station, Tarvin Road, Chester, Cheshire

This highly unusual pumping station was designed by Latrobe Bateman in 1851-3. The engine house and water tower were combined in a single circular building, from the centre of which the chimney formerly projected. The neighbouring pedimented building was the former diesel engine house.
