13/106 Church of All Saints

6.3.59 I Parish Church of All Saints. Fabric dating from C12, but mainly C13. Walls flint, stone dressings. W tower, N and S porches, nave, N and S aisles, chancel. Base of tower late Cl2, rest of fabric C13: tower with its windows, chancel and arcades of 4 bays clerestory with quatrefoils set in squares. Aisles, W windows and S doorway late C13. C15 roofs to nave, chancel, N aisle. Bell stage of tower partly rebuild C1800 in brick with S bell openings of honeycomb pattern brick exactly as in con- temporary barn architecture.

Whitewashed all over, including the stone piers, clear glass throughout. C15 font on prominent base, octagonal, Evangelists' symbols. Base of C15 screen; part of C15 carving re-used in tower arch screen. C17 Holy table and communion rails, mid C19 stalls, benches. The Butter tomb in the churchyard is listed separately.
