14/156 Loose boxes and Stock Sheds, 20 yards south west of Great Barn, Wimpole Hall

GV II

Loose boxes and cattle stalls forming three sides of farmyard designed by Sir John Soane in circa 1800. Restored. Timber-framed weatherboarded on brick plinth. Combed wheat reed thatch roof hipped to ends, and slate. E plan. One storey, and one storey and loft to the wings. Three bargeboarded gable dormers to each of the wings, two louvered and one with pitch opening. The south side is single storey. A brick wing projects subdividing the yard. Gault brick and slate roof.
