Wrest Park, Silsoe, Bedfordshire

A vertical aerial photograph of the village of Silsoe with the Wrest Park estate to the right (east)of it. Wrest Park was the country estate of the De Gray family. The house was designed and built by Thomas Philip 2nd Earl de Grey in 1834- 39 just to the north of an earlier house. The house has a large garden to the south of it. Just below the house is the formal garden. Below them are the woodland gardens surrounded by water which forms the estate boundary. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2012).
