Whipping cross, Naseby, Northamptonshire

A view of the cross in its new position at the junction of Newlands with Haslebech and Clipston roads. It was removed from the churchyard in c1820. The cross itself dates back to the 1400s. Notice how worn the grooves at the base are from 100s of years of people kneeling in them to be whipped.
