Wellington Pier, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Wellington Pier was built in 1853 by Peter Ashcroft, engineer of the Eastern Counties Railway and largely rebuilt in 1900 when the Borough bought it. The railways provided the first chance for many people to visit the seaside and there is often a strong link between to the two.
