Upton Hospital, Slough

The hospital was built in 1835-6 as the local Union Workhouse in the shape of a cross with a central tower. A type of flower, the Mrs.Sinkins Pink was first raised here around 1880 by the Master of the workhouse and named after his wife, the Matron.
