A group portrait of Sir Mark Sykes, 6th Baronet with his wife and six children at Sledmere House. Sledmere House originally dates from the 18th century. It was built for Sir Mark Sykes, the 1st Baronet. Sir Mark Sykes, 6th Baronet is shown standing at the back of the group. Sykes was a military officer and advisor to the War Office. He died of Spanish flu in 1919. His body was exhumed in 2007 for test samples of the disease as he was buried in a lead coffin.
