RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire
The supplementary storage area at RAF Scampton was built to house fissile cores (the nuclear heart of a bomb) for use by the V-force which carried Britain's airborne deterrant. Individual concrete chambers were buried beneath an earthen bank.
