Old Maltings, Shelfanger Road, Diss, Norfolk

These buildings were originally a maltings. They were built in 1788. The malting of grain is part of the brewing process to make beer. At this time most towns would have had their own maltings and brewery. This one has the inscription "M and S laid the first brick. The 19 May 1788".
