Lion Sculpture, Lion Brewery, Hartlepool

The sculpture of the lion statant (standing very upright) dates from around 1852. It is made of painted stone. It stands outside the Lion Brewery and is probably the only thing left of the original Lion Brewery. The other statue where the lion is lying down (couchant) is from a later date.
