Harewood Village, West Yorkshire

Harewood was a small village of estate workers on the land of the proprietor. Having worked as the architect of Harewood House alongside Robert Adam, John Carr of York was asked to plan a new estate village in 1760. A ribbon factory was also established to provide an additional means of employment for the population.
