Grimes Graves Neolithic Flint Mine, Norfolk

The round features in landscape here are the remnants of the shafts at this Neolithic mine. Having been worked in the 3rd millennium BC the site is more recent than most known flint mines in Britain, and probably extended further than these earthworks visible from the air show. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
