Girls' High School, Richmond, North Yorkshire

This school was built in 1938-39 by D Clarke-Hall. It was pioneering in terms of school architecture both in Britain and abroad. The architect Pevsner describes it as 'nicely intricate, unexpected and curiosity-inspiring'.
