Donnington Hospital, Oxford Road, Shaw Cum Donnington, West Berkshire

The Donnington Hospital almshouses were founded in 1393 by Sir Richard Abberbury of Donnington Castle. They were for the less well-off retired members of Berkshire and Oxfordshire society and are still in use. It is the oldest charity in Berkshire and the 23rd oldest in the country. The current building dates from 1602.
