Cissbury Ring, West Sussex
Owned and managed by the National Trust, Cissbury Ring near Findon is the second largest Iron Age hillfort in the country. Evidence of Neolithic flint mining can be seen in the foreground. The mining took place long before Cissbury became a defensive hillfort. The spoil heaps and filled in openings of flint mines date from before 3500BC.
