Bristol Gas Company, Colston Street, Bristol

Built in the first half of the 20th century, this showroom is now the home of the City Information Office. In the years between the Wars the use of gas changed from a source of lighting to a fuel primarily for cooking and heating. The Bristol Gas Company emphasised the new ways to use gas through the use of the new style of Art Deco architecture employed in its showroom.
