Cast-iron boundary post. The lettering reads 'THIS ESTATE/THE/PROPERTY OF/CLERKENWELL/LONDON/W.C. FISH/C. HELLIS (Churchwardens)/1845'. One of a group of boundary posts which were erected to mark the boundary of the Clerkenwell estate, given in the mid 17th century as a gift by Sir George Strode to the poor of the parish of Clerkenwell in London.
