Anderton Boat Lift, Anderton, Cheshire
The Anderton Boat Lift transfers canal boats between the Weaver Navigation and the Trent and Mersey Canal through a 15 metre difference in water level. It opened in 1875 and was converted from hydraulic to electric power in 1904.
