22 Milton Keynes Village, Milton Keynes

This house dates from the 14th century or earlier. It was altered and extended in the 17th and 19th centuries. It is a timber framed house but mostly cased in 19th century brick. The timber frame can be seen still exposed at the north end with brick and plaster infill. A central chimney stack was inserted in the 17th century. The inside would originally have been an open hall with a central open fire. The smoke would have found its way out through the thatch.
