Bedford Lemere and Co's studio was at 147 Strand from 1867 to 1946, with the ground floor occupied by booksellers A & F Denny at the time of this photograph. Taken in 1907, this image shows the studio building seven years after Harry Bedford Lemere took over the business from his father, and was probably taken to document the new lettering applied to the building's facade.
