13th century Clifford's Tower (York Castle), York, York

A reconstruction drawing showing the building the Great Gate in the bailey wall. It was built in stone in the late 13th century. This followed on from when other stone defences were added around the bailey by Henry III between 1245 and 1262. It iwas also when the keep was rebuilt in stone.
