11 Cowbridge Hertford, Hertfordshire

This group of 4 tenements in a single building was built in c1852 by Henry Roberts. It is a replica of ones that were designed for the Great Exhibition of 1851. They were built as 'Model Houses for Families'. Those for the Great Exhibition were built by Command of His Royal Highness, The Prince Albert. The Society for the Improvement of the Conditions of the Labouring Classes had commissioned designs for model dwellings from Henry Roberts.
