National Heritage Protection Plan Research 2011-2015
Search here for research produced as part of the former National Heritage Protection Plan (NHPP), between 2011 and 2015. It predated the separation of Historic England and the English Heritage Trust. Research was targeted at increasing understanding and informing decision making about protecting the historic environment.
We carried out some of the projects ourselves and also commissioned other organisations to do some projects. You can out more about how research is commissioned from our Heritage Protection Commissions grant pages.
- If you are not familiar with the structure of the former plan you can use the "refine results" button to search from a list of broad types of heritage interest such as “built heritage”.
- You can use the "refine results" button to search by historic periods. Many research activities covered multiple periods.
- If you are familiar with the now superseded plan you can also refine your search by its “Measures”. These were the main areas of protecting heritage that it set out to address.
- Scroll down to see the list of results headings displayed and click on each for more details. The default setting displays all thematic research headings from the former plan.
To find out more about how this superseded plan worked, see the NHPP framework and the former English Heritage Action Plan 2011-2015 or view progress and review reports made over the course of the plan. You can also see developments on the replacement Historic England Action Plan.
