TQ3503NE GREENWAYS, Ovingdean 577-1/52/984 (East side) 20/08/71 Ovingdean Grange (Formerly Listed as: OVINGDEAN ROAD, Ovingdean Ovingdean Grange)

GV II

Farmhouse. C17 work to the north, C18 range to east, west front altered c1835. Flint with brick dressings, render, roofs of slate and tile. 2 storeys with dormers. Irregular plan. The entrance is now in the west front, which was provided with a dummy third storey in the early C19 and rendered; 3-window range; Doric porch to flat-arched entrance with overlight and panelled door of original design; ground-floor windows blocked, first-floor windows have early C19 tripartite sashes; third-floor windows blank; cornice and parapet. The north front is partly rendered, and has a 2-storey gabled wing of early date with stone quoins. The east front has 2 early C19 tripartite sashes in a range of generally C18 date, and a range of single-storey outbuildings. INTERIOR: not inspected.
