HOGHTON SD 62 NW 2/139 Coachhouse and stable c.4 metres north of 22.10.52 north-west tower of Hoghton Tower at SD 621 264 GV II

Coachhouse and stable. C17, altered for garages etc. Squared sandstone with quoins, stone slate roof with louvred lantern on ridge. Rectangular plan, probably 3 bays. Two storeys; some slit breathers; stone gable copings with ball finials on kneelers and apex; entrances from north side, high screen wall attached to centre, with round-archway entrance, principal doorways altered; another screen wall attached to east gable; west gable has coupled 3-light windows at ground floor, south side wall has two 2-light mullioned windows at 1st floor.
