Waterlogged Archaeological Deposits, Nantwich Cheshire

Author(s): Cheshire County Council

The report is an assessment of the well preserved waterlogged archaeological deposits in the historic town of Nantwich, Cheshire. The aim of the project was to get a better overview of these remains in order to promote their preservation, particularly by predicting where they are likely to be found and thus aiding informed decision making within the planning process. This work was carried out by SLR Consulting on behalf of Cheshire Council and funded by English Heritage (now Historic England). Further studies into the waterlogged archaeology of other historic English towns were subsequently incorporated into the National Heritage Protection Plan.
