The report, commissioned as part of the National Heritage Protection Plan provides mapping, survey data, and interpretations to allow further progress towards designation of the submerged Dunwich town site.

With funding from English Heritage, the project was realised through the collaboration of the Geodata Institute, the National Oceanography Centre and Wessex Archaeology.
