Description

Cammell Laird and Co Ltd, one of the most recognisable names in British shipbuilding, was formed by the merger of Laird, Son and Co. of Birkenhead and Cammell and Co. of Sheffield, at the turn of the 20th century. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was taken for 'Cammell & Engineering', possibly a reference to Engineering Magazine.
